DAY ONE, 2021
This is a wormhole. It's a blackhole on the front side of the canvas based on 2019's Powēhi and imaged according to the visual representation of the accretion disk in the film ‘Interstellar’. On the other side is the theoretical other side of a black hole, a white hole, painted to look like a negative of a photograph. The white hole is painted directly on the underside of the canvas so technically you could go through the canvas and come out on the other side, except that you can't because it's two different sides of the canvas, which also represents the difficulty of meeting the requirement for an extra whole parallel dimension to exist for wormholes to occur. you'd actually have to funnel a tear through the fabric of spacetime, which is represented by...the fabric of the canvas.
(If you refer to the last image, I figured you can't possibly justifiably paint a wormhole with a 2D representation on a singular plane so the best I can do is a 3D representation of it confined to this limited plane of existence.)
